Creating and managing deals

Deals are the core of your sales pipeline in Revian. Whether you create them manually or let the AI generate them from your calls, every deal captures the essential information you need to move opportunities forward.

Manual deal creation

To create a deal manually, click the + New Deal button from the Deals page or pipeline view. You can also use the keyboard shortcut N when on the deals page.

The deal creation form opens in a side panel, letting you fill in the details while keeping your pipeline visible. Start typing a company name and Revian will suggest matches from your existing accounts, or you can create a new company on the fly.

AI-assisted deal creation

When Revian records and transcribes your calls, the AI automatically identifies potential opportunities. If a prospect expresses interest, discusses budget, or mentions a timeline, you will see a suggestion to create a deal.

The AI pre-fills the deal with information gathered from the conversation:

Review the suggested details, make any adjustments, and click Create Deal. You can also ask the AI assistant directly: "Create a deal for the Acme call" and it will handle everything.

Required fields

Every deal needs these four pieces of information:

* Required Fields

  • Deal name - A clear identifier (e.g., "Acme Corp - Enterprise Plan")
  • Company - The account this deal is associated with
  • Stage - Where the deal sits in your pipeline
  • Amount - The expected value of the deal

Optional fields

These additional fields help you track and forecast more effectively:

Contact roles

Link contacts to your deal and assign them roles to track the buying committee:

👥 Contact Roles

  • Decision Maker - Has final authority to approve the purchase
  • Champion - Internal advocate pushing for your solution
  • Influencer - Shapes the decision but does not have final say
  • Blocker - May oppose or slow down the deal
  • User - Will use the product day-to-day
  • Economic Buyer - Controls the budget

You can assign multiple contacts to a deal and each contact can have multiple roles. The AI will suggest roles based on titles and conversation analysis.

Custom fields

Admins can create custom fields to capture information specific to your sales process. Common examples include:

Custom fields appear in the deal form, can be made required, and are available for filtering and reporting.

Tip: Keep your required fields minimal to reduce friction. You can always add more information as the deal progresses.
